Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) for Youth Group Home

The Seminole Youth Home provides care for Tribal children ages 0 to 17 years old. We are looking for caring, professional staff to work 5 days a week, including at least one weekend shift so either Sunday through Thursday, Tuesday through Saturday, or work through the weekend and have 2 days off during the week. Note the Youth Home is located on the Big Cypress Reservation at 35195 Henry Osceola Rd, Clewiston, FL 33440. You would clock-in at 1pm at our Hollywood office 6365 Taft Street, Hollywood, Florida 33024 and drive a tribal vehicle to Big Cypress to arrive by 2:30pm, and stay roughly until 8:30pm. Then you would drive back and clock-out around 10pm in Hollywood.

Position Summary

The incumbent in this position is responsible for assisting in the direct care and providing a safe environment to the youth admitted to the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s Youth Home. The individual provides daytime relief to the Youth Home Administrator, Residential Support Specialist and Facilities Specialist by monitoring and supervising residents, ensuring compliance with house rules, regulations, and assisting in the daily operational/housekeeping functions. This individual implements all steps consistently and accurately for all treatment programs including, but not limited to, Daily Living Skills, Formal Behavioral Intervention Plans, Special Education Plan, and/or any recommendations for Occupational, Speech or Physical Therapy. Qualifications / Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent GED is required. Associate’s Degree in Social Work, Mental Health or related field is preferred. An active Registered Behavior Technician certificate is required. A minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of experience working as a Registered Behavior Technician, Direct Care Worker, Mental Health Technician or similar position implementing treatment plans and/or monitoring youth is required. The staff must have worked for at least one (1) year with youth who have been diagnosed or display mental health challenges resulting in behavioral outbursts, tantrum, non-compliance, etc. The person must have worked for at least one (1) year in an environment that have called for systematic and appropriate reaction to reductive behaviors and can independently react appropriately to a multitude of situations that may arise in a residential or day treatment program for at risk youth. An equivalent combination of education/training and experience will be considered. The incumbent must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Availability and willingness to work a wide array of hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays is required by the position.
